The Socle team of people, working in various departments and services, is available to support open science and research, for researchers and doctoral students at the university.

It provides support for the university’s research projects at each stage to facilitate their open dissemination and compliance with the legal framework, and that they respect funding bodies’ requirements to facilitate open science.

This team is composed of professionals working in several backgrounds :

  • University library staff at the SCD
  • Research and study engineers at the MSHB,
  • Librarians and researchers at Bretagne Pays-de-la-Loire URFIST
  • DRV research support professionals
  • Legal unit advisers

It was initially set up in 2017 to work on a data survey : Research data in the HASS. Researchers’ practices, representations, and expectations: a survey at Université Rennes 2.

A steering committee was set up in 2018, and an operational team established in 2019, which now offers a range of services for implementing open science in the HASS.
